Rewritten in the OS/400 (i5) Server environment with new data collection methods and Client/Server communication improvements.
Snapshot has been completely rewritten to take advantage of improvements with the OS/400 (i5)
servers. An increase in API's enhance Snapshot's performance reducing the impact on resources.
Clients connecting to the server can now expect a one-on-one "conversation". Though many clients
are supported, most collections are individual processes servicing all clients simultaneously
reducing server overheads.
SnapShot/TSC is the window into your iSeries or i5.
The iSeries IT manager does not want to become a performance tools "expert". He wants information
NOW and wants to be alerted when a critical situation is developing. He needs to know the following:
Exactly what was running when end-of-month processing took 4 extra hours to run?
What is the end-to-end response time to my head office?
Do we have a problem with the communications to the factory?
Who are my Top 20 Users between 9am and 11am?
How much DASD is consumed daily, how much is left on each drive?
How many objects are in each library, how much disc does each use and how fast is my library growing?
I want to monitor my Job and Output Queues.
What are the Top 10 Jobs that run overnight?
What are the Top 10 Jobs running right now?
What is the average CPU Usage between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Friday?
How do I issue a command to change the priority of a Job that is using too much CPU (unless it is the General Manager?
I want to know how my current workload will perform if I upgrade from my current Model 720-2061/1500 to an new i5 model 520 before spending the money on an upgrade.
Can I get all of the above information from my second AS/400 at our remote factory, now?
With SnapShot/TSC the IT manager can get the answers to all these questions. He can see in
vivid color exactly what is happening within his iSeries and the one at his remote factory in REAL TIME.
See DASD activity for each drive, including DASD used over the past 24 hours, or 30 days with trend lines, size of disk, resource name, amount used/available.
See what jobs and users are consuming the CPU and memory
See the top 10 jobs impacting the system NOW or in the past
See network delay, do you have a network problem?
See Library growth over a 24 hour period including number of objects in each library and occupied disk space.
Monitor Job and Output Queues and number of spooled files per status and size of the spooled files per status.
Have an alert sent to your pager or email if the status of any of the above is becoming critical, there is a critical OS/400 error message, or a BSAFE/Global Security alert.
Easy to install, you are up and running in minutes. Don't waste time becoming a tool expert
Drill down on the times when response time was greatest to find out why
Capacity planning tool feature enables you to see how your application will run on larger machine (do you really need that upgrade?)
SnapShot/TSC permits you to monitor the status of all the iSeries or i5's on your network, remotely, from one PC.
One of the features of SnapShot TSC is simulating what your workload would be if you upgraded your server. This feature is not activated in the trial version but is available when you get a permanent access code after purchase. Please click on this link to get an idea how this works.
Request your evaluation copy of SnapShot/TSC so you can see what how easy it is to monitor your iSeries so you can view activity that could develop into critical problems. Keep your users happy!
